The Hub: Broadway and Commercial Drive, Vancouver, Canada (2018-2023) - Social Documentary Photography Project.
The Hub at Broadway and Commercial Drive in East Vancouver, Canada, serves as a crucial transportation nexus connecting various destinations in the Lower Mainland. Approximately 100,000 individuals traverse this hub on a daily basis, primarily commuting to and from their workplaces. The vicinity also boasts a diverse array of shops and services, encompassing a grocery store, drugstore, multiple medical offices, a dollar store, three major banks, as well as several restaurants and coffee shops.
I initiated my Social Documentary Photography Project at The Hub in 2018, inspired by my daily passage through this location. Given my proximity to the area, residing nearby, I persist in capturing images of the locale multiple times each week. I aspire to sustain this project for a minimum of another five years, especially in light of significant development plans for the region. Anticipating substantial changes in the coming years, I aim to document the evolving landscape and community.

Additionally, it may encompass a socially critical genre, dedicated to portraying the lives of underprivileged or disadvantaged individuals.

Commercial–Broadway, formerly two separate stations known as Broadway and Commercial Drive, constitutes a comprehensive rapid transit station complex within Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain system, situated in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This facility accommodates an elevated segment of the Expo Line and an underground segment of the Millennium Line, functioning as a vital transit hub. It ranks as the third busiest SkyTrain station in terms of boardings and stands as the terminus for the region's most frequented bus route, the 99 B-Line, which serves UBC.
In February 2019, the station's Broadway segment welcomed the inauguration of a third platform. This expansion aimed to enhance capacity for Expo Line services bound for Waterfront station, anticipating heightened station traffic resulting from various initiatives, including the opening of the Evergreen extension on the Millennium Line.
